Here is a complete program from February 12, 1968 signed by Georgian composer Aram Khachaturian. The program was for a performance of Khachaturian's works by the Hartfort (CT.) Symphony Orchestra, a performance that Khachaturian himself conducted. A long-time collector of classical music autographs in Hartfort got Khachaturian to autograph this program after the performance. Khachaturian wrote only his first name, but this autograph is rare in that he used the letters of the Roman alphabet, which are used in the English language (not the alphabet in which most Khachaturian autographs were written). He included a stave with a treble clef and other musical symbols. The program is also signed by that night's performer, acclaimed cellist Karine Georgian. This is a truly rare combination of autographs. The condition of the program is excellent, although there is some discoloration of the page on which the autographs are located, which was probably caused by a yellowing newspaper clipping kept within the program (not included). The staining is not on the other pages of the program. The program measures 6 x 9 in. and is in better condition than it appears in the scanned picture. Don't pass up this unique item.
